Molloy College Announces New Dean for School of Business
Rockville Centre, NY — Molloy College recently announced that Ms. Gioia Bales has assumed the role of Dean of the School of Business, effective August 3, 2020. She replaces Dr. Barbara Schmidt and Dean Kathy Maurer-Smith, who served as interim deans from November of 2019 until Ms. Bales became the dean.
Ms. Bales was previously the Senior Associate Dean of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University since 2016, and she also served in other administrative roles and held faculty status during her career there. Prior to her time at Hofstra, Ms. Bales worked in the Finance industry as a Senior Research Analyst at Salomon Brothers, and as a Senior Finance Consultant at Merrill Lynch before becoming the Director of Graduate Business Career Services and Administrator of the Merrill Lynch Center for International Financial Services and Markets. She received her M.B.A. from Hofstra University and her B.S. in Journalism and English from Syracuse University. She is a resident of Locust Valley.

Molloy College, an independent Catholic college based in Rockville Centre, was founded in 1955 by the Sisters of Saint Dominic in Amityville, NY.
