Meet the Author featuring Barbara Novack, Writer-in-Residence, Molloy College
On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, Barbara Novack, Molloy College's Writer-in-Residence, will read from, discuss and sign copies of her new novel, J.W. Valentine, at Turn of the Corkscrew Books & Wine, 110 N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre. The event will begin at 7 pm.
The novel, set in the summer of 1952, tells of a troubled 14-year-old boy sent to a farm for "rehabilitation." Amid the distrust, there is discovery, and through it, J.W. Valentine tells a moving story of love. In her review, Dawn Martin said, "Scenes and characters from J.W. Valentine will linger in your consciousness long after you finish this remarkable novel." J.W. Valentine was a finalist for Pushcart Press's Editor's Book Award.
Barbara Novack is a member of Molloy College's English Department. An award-winning writer, she conducts highly regarded writers' workshops in the New York metropolitan area and presents popular programs on creative writing, memoir and poetry. In addition, she founded and hosts Poetry Events and Author Afternoons, two reading series at Molloy College that bring contemporary poets and writers to a wider audience.
