In Memoriam - S. Rose Teresa Amor, OP
We are sad to announce the passing of our devoted colleague and friend, S. Rose Teresa Amor, OP on Sunday, July 7, 2019. S. Rose was born in Cuba and emigrated to the U.S. as a young girl. Her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from St. John's University and her Ph.D. from Columbia University, were the foundation for her academic and professional achievements.
S. Rose served as Chairperson of the Department of Languages and Cultures (formerly Modern Languages Department), Director of the Molloy Spanish Institute, Director of the Molloy Spanish Study Abroad Program, Faculty President for two terms, Chairperson of Faculty Council and membership on almost every Molloy College committee. In addition, she was moderator of the Athletic Association, the Spanish and Photography Clubs, and Alpha Mu Gamma Honor Society. Her many awards, including the President's Medal, demonstrated the high esteem of her colleagues. Sr. Rose was the first member of the Molloy community to achieve 50 years of service and dedication.
Please keep S. Rose Teresa's family and friends as well as the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville in your prayers.
