Graduate Music Therapy Program 10 Year Anniversary
The Graduate Music Therapy program is celebrating ten years! Designed to meet licensing requirements for New York State for Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT) and advanced competencies from the American Music Therapy Association, the program combines experiential and didactic learning with an emphasis on music-centered music therapy practice. Founders Evelyn Selesky and Suzanne Sorel created an eclectic mix of courses that range from Foundations in Music Therapy Groups to Professional Ethics in Music Therapy to Music and Medicine in Health Care Communities.
Molloy is the only college to offer two post-Master's advanced training programs: Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and Analytical Music Therapy. All 71 graduates have completed research-based theses published on ProQuest that are widely read across the world and stand out as scholarly additions to the literature. Molloy Graduate Music Therapy alumni are working music therapists employed at schools, hospitals, treatment centers, outpatient clinics and private practices.
We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone, looking back on all that we have accomplished and looking ahead to what is possible for outstanding, cutting-edge music therapy training for the future.
