Ferguson/NYC: A community conversation
The Department of Social Work welcomes you to an open dialogue on the recent events that have been occurring around the country and the subsequent community responses. The deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner most recently have sparked public debate regarding the issues of institutional racism within the criminal justice system and opportunities for greater social justice for people of color. While the Molloy Community, as in the greater society, has many perspectives, there is an obvious need for more thoughtful conversation and space where the opportunity for this conversation can happen. Our campus is just such a place.
Please join us on Tuesday, December 9 between 3:30 p.m and 5 p.m. in the Hays Theater to begin what we hope is one of many discussions about these important issues that are impacting all of our communities.
