Congressman John Lewis to speak at Molloy
Congressman John Lewis, co-writer Andrew Aydin, and artist Nate Powell will speak to the Molloy College freshman class about their graphic memoir, March, on October 5 in the Madison Theatre. The event will be streamed live to the Larini Room to allow other members of the campus community to hear the presentation.
March provides a rich picture of Lewis's experiences as a student activist and leader of the civil rights movement during the 1950's and 1960's. As part of the Molloy College Common Reading Program, the class of 2019 is reading volumes one and two of this important account of the courage shown by Lewis and other civil rights figures as they struggled to defeat segregation and to achieve equality for black Americans.
Please join us in the Larini Room (Public Square, 2 floor) from 10-11a.m. to hear from an American hero.
Note: There are a limited number of copies of March available in Siena 103. First come, first served.
