Boys Scouts Visit Molloy on Veterans Day
On Veterans Day, in memory of those who served in the armed forces, Boy Scouts from Floral Park, West Hempstead and Mount Sinai gathered on campus to volunteer in preserving and researching the collection of military medals on display in the Barbara H. Hagan Center for Nursing. Each scout cleaned a group of medals, researched their origin with assistance from Molloy's librarian, Theresa Rienzo, and documented their findings. The boys were excited to find medals from as early as the Civil War and all branches of service. At the conclusion of the day, the boys toured campus, met with President Drew Bogner and had the opportunity to participate in a simulation experience in the nursing lab. Molloy faculty members Madeline Craig, Lisa Miller and Normadeane Armstrong were especially proud of their scouts.
