2016 NY Vegan Living Program

The Sustainability Institute at Molloy College invites you to the 2016 NY Vegan Living Program

July 9 - August 6, at the Molloy College Suffolk Center, 7180 Republic Airport, Farmingdale, NY 11735

"If you're considering veganism for health, for the environment and/or for the animals the Vegan Living Program is definitely for you. The VLP provides you with invaluable resources including your very own coach to ensure a smooth transition, all while meeting other like minded people." - William Bianco, Molloy Senior Nursing Student, participated in 2014 and 2015 Vegan Living Program

2016 NY Vegan Living ProgramWant to go vegan, but need some help and support? Be a Vegan Pledge in the 2016 New York Vegan Living Program! The Vegan Living Program (VLP) is an educational program that covers the hows and whys of vegan living, including the ethical and environmental implications of veganism, nutrition, cooking, meal planning, and living vegan in a not-yet-vegan world.

Participants pledge to live vegan for the duration of the program, with the help of volunteer Vegan Coaches and our educational program. Pledges receive a binder full of resources and recipes, and a goody bag of free vegan stuff to make the transition easier and more fun! Most classes are free and open to the public, so no one misses out on the valuable info.

It's clear that more and more of us are interested in addressing animal exploitation, tackling climate change, and concerned about our own health. In fact, according to search engine giant Google, the search interest for "vegan" spiked in 2015, increasing 32 percent from the previous year. Whatever your motivation, the Vegan Living Program is designed to provide you with the support you need, and to build a community of like-minded individuals.
2016 NY Vegan Living ProgramThe Vegan Living Program originated and has been held with overwhelming success for the past 6 years in Baltimore, MD by Open the Cages Alliance. This will be the third year OTCA has offered the VLP on Long Island, teaming up this year with co-organizers, the Sustainability Institute at Molloy College to make the 2016 NY VLP the best one yet! Join us for this life-changing program!

"I recommend this excellent program to anyone who is interested in learning more about the vegan perspective. The presentations are informative and practical. Myths are dispelled here. Yes, it is possible to get enough protein on a vegan diet, and vegan food can be delicious! More importantly, people who care about the impact they have on their fellow beings, and on the environment, come together to explore the possibilities for change." - Pamela Kenley-Meschino Molloy Writing Center Coordinator, participated in 2015 Vegan Living Program
