Greg Schaefer, Chief Financial Officer and owner of Better Home Health Care Agency, Inc., is a visionary whose leadership prowess has made "it happen" for both recipients of quality health care and more than 500 Better Home Health Care Employees.
After graduation from Ithaca College with a degree in Finance, Mr. Schaefer joined Better Home Health Care Agency, Inc. In his 18 year tenure he has worked in Payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable before being named CFO in 2009. As CFO he is responsible for long term growth and stability of the agency as well as developing marketing and business plans.

Mr. Schaefer's competent, compassionate spirit and purpose driven leadership have enabled Better Home Health Care Agency to achieve the reputation of being the health care agency of choice for the many counties in which they serve. Better Home Health Care has been voted as the Heroes in the Home winner as well as being named as the 5th fastest growing company on Long Island.
Greg is a lifelong resident of the village with his wife Michelle who will receive her Masters as a Nurse Practitioner at Molloy in 2015 and their two beautiful children a four year old son Cain and a one year old daughter Cameron born on Father's day. Greg said, "My goal is to improve the lives for as many people possible while delivering outstanding customer service day in and day out."
Patricia Huber, President, CEO, Better Home Health Care
Frustration with the health care agency that served her elderly parents propelled Pat to start her very own agency. Under her outstanding leadership, Better Home Health Care is one of the fastest growing businesses, and the second largest female owned business on Long Island. Today with 3 locations, 500 employees and over 12,000 satisfied clients it is a recognized leader in the health care industry.
Pat is a lifelong active and caring resident of Rockville Centre. A graduate of South Side High School and The Roosevelt School of Nursing, she pursued a career as a Registered Nurse at South Nassau Communities Hospital. An interest in education and training of medical para professionals led her to a medical training school where she was the originator of the first triple certification health care worker program. This program prepared graduates to enter a variety of health care settings including the home.
Pats involvement in the community is ongoing. A member of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce and past Board member, past President and member of the Friends of Senior Servces and member of South Nassau Communities Advocacy Committee. She was a recipient of the Nassau County Pathfinder Award for Outstanding Service, Businessperson of the year Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce, Recipient of South Nassau Communities Hospital Mary Pierson Award, Honoree of the Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre, Entrepenurial Spirit Award by KMG and honored as one of Long Islands Top 50 Women.
Pat is the wife of the late Alan Huber and has 4 married children and 12 grandchildren. She remains dedicated to excellence and holds a firm belief that corporate responsibility is giving back to the community, and providing support and untiring service to the people that Better Home Health Care Serves is a must.
Rick Schaefer, COO, Better Home Health Care
Rick was raised under the shadows of the water tower at Molloy College in Rockville Centre. A graduate of South Side High School, he received his degree in Finance from Ithaca College. In 1997 he joined the team at Better Home Health Care and was later promoted to his current role of Chief Operating Officer in 2007.
Rick's passion is advocating for Homecare and seeking regulatory reform in this most essential industry. He has served as a Board Member of the New York Association of Health Care Providers for the past 10 years and is serving his 2nd term as the Long Island Chapter President, representing over 45 Home Care Agencies throughout the Island. Rick sits on the Chapter's Public Policy Committee and was recently designated by Governor Cuomo to serve on the Home and Community Based Workgroup, whose mission is to shape Medicaid reform and redefine the future of the Home Care delivery system. This past month Rick has been honored by his industry and was awarded both the 2014 Founder's Spirit Award and the Norma Recco Advocate of the Year Award.
Rick is married to Kristen and has 2 children, Jack and Sarah. He has recently moved his family back to the community and is quite active as a volunteer/coach in the Rockville Centre Soccer, Basketball and Baseball Leagues.
