Position: Field Coordinator/ Recruiter

Department: Graduate Social Work

Supervisor: Director of Fordham/Molloy Graduate Social Work Program

General Purpose: Assist with field placement process and recruitment for graduate program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate field placement/replacement of students as directed
  • Develop new field work sites under the direction of the Fordham GSS Director of Field Instruction and the Fordham/Molloy Program Director
  • Review and approve/amend student work/study applications. Prepare work/study agreements for agencies
  • Completion of documentation following placement
  • Participate in appropriate meetings at both the Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus and the Molloy College campus
  • Provide phone outreach to coordinate onsite visits to field agencies
  • Attend meetings, trainings and recruitment events off campus when necessary
  • Follow-up with all inquiries generated through phone or email regarding the admission process or general questions about the program
  • Coordinate recruitment events with GSS Admissions team
  • Conduct information sessions at social service agencies and at Molloy College
  • Attend day, evening and week-end college fairs
  • Provide advisement to current students during registration periods
  • Assist Director with various program specific projects and tasks
  • Maintain and coordinate the Fordham laptop rental containing test prep materials for Fordham alumni
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support the Program

Desired Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) required with at least 5 years of post-MSW experience
  • Requires ability to manage competing demands effectively, interacting with prospective students, students and field placement personnel to solidify placements
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented, with excellent follow-through
  • Excellent computer skills with willingness to learn new systems in order to perform duties
  • Work well with multiple constituencies
  • Local travel required
