Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., with evening, holiday, and weekend social media monitoring.


The Assistant Director for Social Media is an integral member of the College's marketing and enrollment strategy team. They also play a pivotal role in crisis communications. The Assistant Director is responsible for creating, implementing, and fine-tuning Molloy College's social media strategy across multiple platforms; working with data tools to measure and increase audience engagement on those platforms and pivot based on data results; and maintaining consistency of voice, visual signature, and editorial standards of engagement across social media platforms. Social listening is an important aspect of monitoring and supporting the efforts above. The Assistant Director manages, advises and supports the College president's accounts.


  • Develop and implement platform-specific strategies to increase Molloy College's presence across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and LinkedIn, as well as emerging, relevant social media sites, such as TikTok, with a focus on follower growth, engagement, and click-through.
  • Guide and educate internal social media teams, including strategic communications, marketing, public relations, admissions, alumni, student life, athletics, administrative and academic departments in social media trends and best practices. Conduct hands-on social media classes.
  • Researches, analyzes, monitors and evaluates social media marketing effectiveness, reporting results to appropriate higher levels of administration.
  • Monitors Google Analytics, Social Media Management & Social Analytics Platforms for insights to campaign performance.
  • Social Listening, Brand, Crisis and Reputation Management - monitor social media conversations, identify prevailing sentiment and areas of concern. Develop and execute strategies to enhance reputation and manage negative conversations and ratings on social media platforms, review sites, and other digital forums.
  • Play key role in developing thought leadership regarding social media platforms for the College's president, senior leadership and faculty.


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field, or relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
  • Web Development - Basic HTML is a plus Statistical Software
  • Google Analytics/Social Analytics Social Scheduling - Sprout Social, Hootsuite or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital accessibility
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-8 years' experience


Supervises work of student, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Is responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering correction action for students. Plans organizational structure and job content.


Desktop computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software; copy machine; fax machine, printers, and scanners.
