Position title: Graduate Research Assistant
The person who works as a Research Assistant (RA) with the Associate Dean for Research and Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of research support activities for faculty in the Division of Nursing. The Center for Nursing Research and Scholarly Practice supports faculty requests for assistance in their non-teaching, independent research activities. These duties involve a variety of tasks such as data coding, data entry, and preliminary analyses for specific research studies. Faculty requests are assessed by the Associate Dean and the RA can be directly assigned to clearly identified tasks that are appropriate to the level of functioning of the RA. Training, assistance, and resources support are provided to the RA when needed.
The RA will also provide technical assistance for faculty with computer-related questions. If the RA has SPSS skills, or willing to learn them, they may be involved with data analysis and formatting results. This additional skill will be developed in the position.
1. Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Advanced skills helpful)
2. Statistics - SPSS skills a plus, data entry, data cleaning, data coding, data labeling, data analysis
3. Writing skills, specifically drafting manuscripts and reports
3. Interpersonal skills to work with faculty, staff and doctoral students.
