Full-Time Tenure Track - Computer Information Systems

Position: Full-Time Tenure Track Position - Computer Information Systems (Information Technology)The Mathematics and Computer Studies Department of Molloy College is seeking one full-time computer information systems faculty member for a tenure track appointment which starts September, 2019.

Molloy College is an independent institution recently recognized by Money Magazine as the "#1 Value All-Star". Located in Rockville Centre, Long Island, Molloy is about 40 minutes from New York City. With approximately 6000 students, the College emphasizes small class size and personal attention.


Dedicated, effective teaching is the primary responsibility; the 12-credit per semester teaching load includes both introductory and advanced courses in Information Technology. In addition, the successful candidate will provide academic advisement to students, majoring in Computer Studies. Other responsibilities include collaboration on departmental activities, a willingness to serve on college-wide committees, as well as continued scholarly activity and professional development. The successful candidate will keep abreast of recent developments in Information Technology and its use in organizations, as well as the latest methods of teaching computer courses.


The position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Consideration will be given to an advanced doctoral candidate. College teaching experience and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and scholarship are required. Candidates need to have a background to teach courses, such as database and data analytics, computer networks, system analysis and design, computer ethics and security, and computers in business. Experience applying Information Technology in industry would be especially advantageous such as data sciences and experience analyzing the interrelationships between data.
