Assistant Professor of Music Therapy

Molloy College is currently seeking to fill a full-time Music Therapy tenure-track position in the Music Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas related to departmental needs
• Teach and supervise research at the undergraduate and graduate level
• Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students
• Provide appropriate service to the College
• Maintain Visibility in Research
• Collaboration with the Director of the Rebecca Center for Music Therapy and the Center on Autism
• Willingness to team teach with other Faculty members outside the Department of Music

Desired Minimum Qualifications:
• Professional certification in music therapy MT-BC and willingness to work towards LCAT
• Doctorate in music therapy or closely related field, will consider ABD
• Clinical competence with a minimum of five years of full-time clinical experience or its part-time equivalent
• Working knowledge of different approaches to music therapy practice, theory and research and interest in teaching a broad range of topics in the field. Particular experience and knowledge of music psychotherapy
• Strong musicianship and knowledge of music-centered and humanistic philosophy a plus
• Effective classroom teacher and clinical supervisor
• Accomplished researcher with an established publication and presentation record
• An understanding of music and music therapy as it relates to other areas of the humanities
