Academic Enrichment Program/Academic Support Services

All assistantships are available for September 5, 2014. Positions are 10 hours per week for 15 weeks. Recipients receive three (3) graduate credits a semester and a $500 stipend at the completion of the assistantship.  Graduate Assistants must be enrolled in at least six (6) graduate credits to qualify. Positions will be filled as complete packets (application, resume and two references) are received in the Human Resources Office. Positions may be eliminated if not filled in a timely fashion and/or if budget has been expended. Please apply in the Human Resources Office, first floor, Kellenberg Hall 112, by August 1, 2014.

Position title:  Graduate Assistant


  • Update program information and records in related software
              Use of Access for entering student sensitive information in database
              Create spreadsheets and databases
  • Responsible for creating academic/study skills references for AcE webpage and related workshops
  • Assist with data compilation for AcE and supplemental instruction reports
              Survey results based on student feedback of tutoring and SI experiences
  • Process calculation of hours for tutors and SI leaders (biweekly)
  • Retrieve, update and maintain online tutor application submissions
              Check AcE email for new applications regularly
  • Attend and participate in new tutor and SI training (as needed)
  • Perform benchmarking information gathering on tutorial programs and use of scheduling software
  • Explore best practice approaches to tutor: tutee assignment process for future implementation, to include traditional and distance learning tutoring


  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of students' records and tutors' personal information
  • Must have math aptitude abilities to calculate data accurately(Math, Computer Science, Business student)
  • Must have well versed knowledge on the use of Microsoft Word, Access & Excel
  • Pleasant personality to assist students with inquiries, in-person and via phone
  • Ability to articulate accurate information regarding the Program
  • Demonstrate professional office decorum
