The Sophia Project is a venture of the Molloy College Philosophy Department, the aim of which is to provide the newcomer to the field of philosophy with the assistance that he or she needs to read great philosophical works.  We believe that with the proper guidance almost any intelligent person can begin a life-long reading program in philosophy...and perhaps even become a bit wiser in the process.

Web based documents and programs to assist beginning philosophy students in discovering just what philosophy is, how to work with difficult philosophical texts and how to do basic research in the field.

SOPHIA TEXTS

Edited versions of important texts in philosophy and related fields, many with notes and commentary.  We may not have every major text in the field of philosophy but what we have should be more than enough to get you started in your pursuit of wisdom.

SOPHIA COMMENTARIES AND COURSES

Original philosophical text commentaries, notes, articles and courses provided by the Molloy College Department of Philosophy, local scholars, as well as some of the great scholars of the early 20th century.

USEFUL LINKS AND OTHER COOL STUFF

Some of the best web sites available in philosophy and in related disciplines as well as some  quirky and provocative  sites not directly related to philosophy that are well worth investigating for your own personal  enlightenment and amusement.
