Sibling Music Group
An interactive music group for siblings of children with developmental challenges. This program is a free summer program open to siblings of the Rebecca Center clients.
Let's Music, Mommy!
Developmentally-based interactive music-making for children, parent(s) and caregivers. Program will begin in September, 2011.
The Rebecca Center Parent Coalition is a free program for parents enrolled in our program to provide additional support and resources.
Developmentally-based interactive music lessons for children with developmental challenges. Program will begin in September, 2011.
Molloy College and the Rebecca Center will be hosting the Annual Music Therapy Conference for Students and New Professionals in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Music Therapy Association on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
Dr. John Carpente and the Rebecca Center are included in a large international Randomized Control Trial (RCT) project proposal that will bring together expert researchers from seven countries on five continents (Norway, Australia, Brazil, Israel, USA, among others) to improve world-wide generalizability.
In addition, our staff will be presenting at the National Music Therapy Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in November, 2011.
Dr. John Carpente will be presenting on The Individual Music-Centered Assessment Profile for Neurodevelopmental Disorders (IMCAP-ND®): Understanding Relating and Communicating through Musical Responsiveness.
Dr. Suzanne Sorel will be presenting on improvisation titled "Dorian Dabbling."
Jill Lucente and Gabriela Ortiz will be presenting on Self Assessment: Using the Individualized Music-Centered Assessment Profile to Examine a Therapist's Ability to Engage, Relate and Communicate.
