DSM 5 Conference
The DSM 5: What You Need to Know from the Experts
Friday, April 4, 2014 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Madision Theater, Rockville Centre campus

Molloy College, Department of Psychology and Counseling, is pleased to be offering the conference, "The DSM 5: What You Need to Know from the Experts. The conference will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Wilbur Arts Center at Molloy's Rockville Centre campus. Featured speakers will include: our keynote speaker, Dr. Thomas M. Achenbach, Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Vermont, Dr. Manoj Pardasani, L.C.S.W., A.C.S.W., Faculty Research Scholar at the Ravazzin Center for Social Work Research in Aging and Associate Professor at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and Michael B. First M.D., Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University. The cost is $50 to the general public if you register by 2/28/14, $60 if you register between 2/15-3/28 and $70 after 3/28 or at the door. Molloy Alumni will receive a 10% discount. Molloy student tuition is $10 (must register by 3/28). Non-Molloy student's tuition (provide copy of student ID) is $25 (must register by 3/28). To Tan or Not to Tan: A Presentation on Sun Protection and Skin Cancer - Free Program
Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Wilbur Arts Center, Hays Theater, Rockville Centre campus

Molloy College, Division of Nursing, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center will be presenting the conference: "To Tan or Not to Tan: A Presentation on Sun Protection and Skin Cancer" on Tuesday, April 8 from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The conference will be offered at no charge and will be held in the Hays Theatre in the Wilbur Arts Center on Molloy's Rockville Centre campus located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY, 11571. Check-in and a light dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the program will start 6:30 p.m. The program will include a presentation on sun protection and skin cancer, as well as a sun damage demonstration. The conference is designed for cancer patients, cancer survivors and their families. However, this conference is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend, including healthcare professionals and students. 2 Nursing CEUs will be given. The speakers will be: Jennifer DeFazio, MD, Assistant Clinical Member, Dermatology Service, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Colette Coyne, Executive Director, Colette Coyne Memorial Melanoma Foundation. Young Children and the Arts, sponsored by the Division of Education. Friday, April 11, 2014, from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the Madison Theatre, Public Square, with sign-in and complimentary breakfast from 8:15 a.m. - 9 a.m.

Please join us at our 2014 Early Childhood conference entitled, Young Children and the Arts, sponsored by the Division of Education. This year's conference has been named in honor of Barbara A. McDonnell, whose family strongly supports Molloy College and this annual initiative on behalf of young children. The conference will take place on Friday, April 11, 2014, from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p. m. in the Madison Theatre, Public Square, with sign-in and complimentary breakfast from 8:15 a.m. - 9 a.m.  The day will consist of a morning keynote speaker, a panel presentation, and afternoon workshops. You may join us for the morning or afternoon program, or the full day. There is no charge for this event.

The focus of this fourth annual early childhood conference is on young children and the arts as an integral part of healthy development; a window for their learning about the world around them; and a vehicle for creativity, expression, and healing. This annual event brings together students, educators, discipline experts, and the general public to share information and resources on topics related to working with young children. The conference meets five hours of NYS Office of Children & Family Services training requirements.

Speech-Language Pathology Program
Current Trends and Challenges in Evaluating and Treating Dysphagia

The Speech-Language Pathology Program, and the Office of Continuing Education, at Molloy College is pleased to present this American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) approved program (.5 ASHA CEUs - Intermediate level; Professional Area) in Dysphasia. The program will be presented by Ellen N. Friedman, MA, CCC/SLP a speech/language pathologist in private practice, with a sub-specialty in treating patients with voice disorders. The cost is $100 to the general public if you register by 3/28/14, $125 if you register between 3/29-4/16 and $135 after 4/16 or at the door. Molloy Alumni will receive a 10% discount. 6 Annual Palliative Care Conference

Molloy College, in collaboration with FEGS Health & Human Services System and other community partners, is pleased to be offering its sixth annual Palliative Care Conference on Long Island. The conference will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Madison Theater at Molloy's Rockville Centre campus. The agenda for the day will include a Keynote Session, a series of topics offered during two concurrent sessions, lunch and a Closing Session. The main objective of this year's conference is for the participants to enhance their ability to provide professional, competent, empathetic care to patients and their families.   Fees: Early Registration by March 7: $75; Regular Registration, March 8 - April 25: $95; Late registration, after April 25 or at the door: $115; Full-time students (must include copy of student ID: $25.
