September 7, 2011
Molloy College and its Writer-in-Residence, Barbara Novack, will be hosting a poetry event featuring readings from Toward Forgiveness on September 18, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, Wilbur Arts Center on Molloy College's Rockville Centre campus. This event is free and open to the public.
Contributors to Toward Forgiveness will participate in this group reading. Edited by Gayl Teller during her tenure as Nassau County Poet Laureate (2009 - 2011), this anthology contains poems by 99 Long Island poets, including five poets laureate. "If anger and revenge are inherent in our psyches," Ms. Teller notes in the preface, "these poems are testaments that the thirst and strength for forgiveness are inherent in our psyches, too."
The Poetry Events series at Molloy College was founded by Barbara Novack in conjunction with the English department. The aim of the series is to bring contemporary poetry to a wider audience.
