Molloy Assistant Professor Receives Fulbright Scholar Grant
Dr. Michelle Frasher, Assistant Professor of the Molloy College History and Political Science Department has been awarded a Fulbright-Shuman Scholar grant from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, the flagship international educational exchange program, which is designed to increase mutual understanding between people of the United States and other countries. Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential in their fields.
This grant will enable Michelle to conduct research at the University of Malta's Department of Information Policy and Governance and at the University of Ghent's Department if Political Science in Belgium during the Spring 2014 semester. During her time abroad, Michelle will examine European Union privacy and data protection legislation and how it affects financial data sharing among financial institutions and law enforcement agencies for use in transatlantic counter-terrorism operations.
