Molloy announces new academic tracks
College Receives Approval from NY State Education Department
Molloy College is pleased to announce that the New York State Education Department has approved programmatic changes for two of its degree offerings. First, making a curricular modification to the College's Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program in Biology and secondly, adding a new track to the existing Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree program in English.
As a result of the recent approval, Molloy's Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Studies Department will now offer three separate study tracks within its existing B.S. degree program in Biology. These tracks are:
1. Pre-Professional Medical Programs/Graduate Studies Track
Intended for students seeking admission to Medical, Dental, Veterinary school or a Graduate Biology program.
2. Pre-Allied Medical Programs Track
Intended for students seeking admission to Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy graduate program.
3. General Biological Sciences Track
4. English Writing Track
The College will now offer a new option for English majors: a B.A. in English with an additional Writing Concentration Track. This is a 54 credit track within the English major that retains the goals of the original English major, but with a varied focus stressing written communication in the digital age. The English Department plans to launch the program for the fall 2014 semester.
