Global Learning Experience: London, England
Choosing to go on one of the Global Learning programs through Molloy was one of the biggest highlights of my college experience so far! In January 2012, I went with a group of nursing and business students to London, England. It was an amazing experience that I will always remember. What can beat making new friends, setting out on new adventures, and visiting a foreign country?
It was my first time flying out of the country without my family - I was so excited! It was a little bit nerve-racking too, only because I was one of the only four sophomore nursing students on the trip. Even though we were the youngest of the nursing group, we were welcomed with open arms by the older students. During check-in time, I met up with my (awesome) roommate, said good-bye to my parents, and soon enough I was boarding the plane and flying to London.
The trip lasted eight days and was truly a life-changing experience. Our group stayed at Royal National Hotel in London. It was in a nice location, which was not too far from the tube (London's subway). We visited many places: St. Paul's Cathedral, Harrods, Bauckingham Palace, Stonehenge, The Roman Baths, and many hospitals and museums around the city. The daytime was mostly spent touring around, sightseeing, and visiting museums. In the evening, we were allowed to go out with our friends to local pubs, go sightseeing, and visit different landmarks.
Global Learning is an amazing opportunity for students to be able to travel around the world for an amazing price. I visited many places and made friends that I still see around campus. The experience was unforgettable and I encourage you to take advantage of what Global Learning has to offer!
