What to Bring! When deciding what to bring to campus, please keep in mind that space is limited and many items can be shared by roommates and suitemates. Please be sure to contact your roommate/suitemates before coming to campus to decide who will bring items like televisions, rugs, irons, ironing boards, etc.
Things to Bring to Campus
o Extra-long twin sheets
o Pillows and pillow cases
o Shoe rack
o Stackable crates (no cement blocks/bricks)
o Shower caddy
o Shower shoes/Flip flops
o Laundry bag
o Laundry soap/Dryer sheets
o Iron with automatic shut off
o Small ironing board
o Alarm lock
o Desk lamp/Reading light/ Floor lamp (Non-Halogen)
o Laptop/Personal computer
o Mobile phone
o Small waste paper basket
o Television (only 1 cable connection per room)
o Radio/Stereo/iPod dock
o Area rug
o Small whiteboard with markers for door
Things NOT to Bring to Campus
X DJ equipment/Excessively large speakers
X Refrigerators of any size*
X Hot plates, toasters/toaster ovens, microwaves*, coffee pots, popcorn poppers, hot pots, rice cookers, George Foreman grills, etc.
X Candles, oil lamps, incense
X Room decorations that pertain to alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or material which is sexually explicit or degrading
X Five head lamps
X Curtains/Tapestries/Pennants or Cloth banners
X Pets of any kind (including fish)
X Halogen lamps/lights
X Weights heavier than 15 lbs.
X Electric blankets
X Plug-in air fresheners
X Excessively large storage bins
X Non-college furniture/mattress
X Non-college locks on doors
X Any weapon or dangerous instrument (including paintball markers)
X Fireworks or large quantities of flammable materials
X Barbeques of any kind (Charcoal, gas, electric)
X Extension cords (power strips are OK)
X Irons without automatic shut off
X Cinder blocks, bricks, or other items used to loft beds.
