Caroline Lawless Social Work Major

Why did you come to Molloy?
I came to Molloy for the "family like" atmosphere, and was immediately welcomed by faculty and students. I became involved in campus activities. I loved that even though Molloy was a commuter school at the time, there were so many opportunities to make the school feel like home.

What are the professors like at Molloy?
The professors at Molloy are outstanding, are extremely knowledgeable in their fields, and they have helped me develop greatly over the last four years. They are kind, approachable, encouraging and helpful.

How does Molloy inspire your passions?
Molloy inspires my passions by giving me leadership opportunities. I have had the chance to run my own programs and have learned what it is like to be in leadership positions. Being the president of the Student Ambassador program has inspired me to always strive to be the best at what I do.

What type of internships did you take, or are looking to take?
I currently intern with a social worker at an elementary school. I have been learning firsthand what it is like to facilitate groups, advocate, and counsel students. Molloy provides great opportunities for students to get hands-on experiences.

How is the campus life at Molloy?
There is always something happening on campus! These activities include charity events, parties, dances, games, barbecues, and much more. The activities are endless. The campus is always bustling with events.

What surprised you the most about Molloy?
The friendliness of the faculty at Molloy surprised me the most. My high school had always made college out to be something to be afraid of. In my freshman year, my Freshman Studies Transfer professor helped me adjust to the changes of high school into college. She was so kind and helpful. I remember that I could barely believe that a professor would go out of her way to make me feel comfortable.

How is Molloy changing your life?
Words cannot describe how much Molloy has changed my life. I have gone from a girl who just blended into the background to a goal-oriented leader, and now take on challenges head on. I never thought that I would be such a driven leader. that I have become. Molloy has given me such confidence and knowledge, and has made me absolutely love the life that I live.

So far, what is your fondest memory of Molloy?
My fondest memory of Molloy is traveling. I have been to Italy, Germany, and will be going to Spain over this upcoming spring break. I never thought I would ever leave the country. Quite honestly, I was afraid to leave the country. For me, Molloy opened the door to travel. Without my school, I would have never learned how amazing experiencing other cultures is!
