Web Application Developer/Programmer

Working under the direction of the Director of Web Technologies the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting Molloy College's external and internal web environments.
This includes, but is not limited to, development of web based tool, features, content, web services, troubleshooting issues that may arise within the College's daily web related activities and web project management.

Reporting: The Web Application Developer/Programmer will report to the Director of Web Technologies.

Position requirements: The ideal candidate will have considerable programming experience and knowledge of hardware and operating systems and software applications. Also required will be the ability to install, configure and operate a variety of software programs; ability to maintain existing software programs and computer systems on servers; ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software problems; ability to meet project deadlines; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees and vendors; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Javascript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, XML, SQL, ASP.NET, PHP.
• Managing IIS 6.0 and 7.0 on multiple Windows servers.
• Develop new website content, features and applications as needed.
• Track and resolve web-related technical issues involving the interrelationship of a variety of third-party programs.
• Preparing and uploading files for our emergency response program.
• Ability to assist with varying internet/website-related content editing, creation, site/file management issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience with PHP, Apache services and Tomcat in a Windows environment.
• Working knowledge of MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
• Knowledge of Windows, IIS and SQL web server setup, configuration and management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with others as a team.
• Working knowledge of networking technologies; including security and encryption on the internet and basic networking concept plus NTbackup or Arcserve backup systems.
• Experience working in an academic environment a plus.
• CRM experience with Jenzabar, AceWeb or Schedule 25 a plus.
• Knowledge of Ingeniux content management platform a plus
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience.
