Division of Nursing - Mid-Career Faculty (2 new positions)

Molloy College, located on Long Island in Rockville Centre, NY, invites mid-career or senior nurse scholars immediately with an established record of funded research, publishing and teaching to apply for the recently approved position of associate professor/professor. The successful candidate will work with our faculty and doctoral students in a newly established Ph.D. program in nursing beginning this academic year (2010-11). A second similar position for associate professor has been approved and will begin July, 2011. Molloy College is a well-respected, vibrant community that serves the Long Island-New York metro area. It is the 6th largest nursing program in the United States and our diverse student population mirrors the New York metropolitan area.

The Dominican tradition of scholarship led faculty at the nursing school to develop its own humanistic framework of nursing which continues to guide our curriculum. This year Molloy College offers its first doctoral program, the Ph.D. in nursing, which aims to prepare future nursing leaders who will have the knowledge and research skills to transform health care for vulnerable populations and to influence health care policy.

Successful candidates must have:

  • An earned Doctorate in nursing or related field with demonstrated record of excellence in education, research and research dissemination
  • An active program of research compatible with the doctoral program mission of transforming health care for vulnerable populations and influencing health policy
  • The ability to provide research residency experiences for doctoral students seeking a research doctorate
  • Candidates should be successfully funded or actively seeking funding to advance their research that will mutually serve the College in its goal of building the research capacity of the campus.

Appointment process:

This recently-approved, grant-funded position is available for the academic year of 2010-11. Funding for these positions has been secured for a three year period with potential conversion to tenure track lines.
