Ermin Deljanin MBA Accounting Graduate

Why did you come to Molloy?
I really liked the business division, as well as the friendly atmosphere on campus.

What were the professors like at Molloy?
The professors were extremely helpful in my development and growth as a student and a professional. They provided me with real world experience, which I use in the workplace. The professors always made themselves available to me, whether it was about schoolwork or general career advice, and they helped to guide me in my future career.

What type of internships did you take, and how important were they to getting a foot in the door?
While at Molloy, I had two internships (WeiserMazars and PricewaterhouseCoopers) at accounting firms. The Molloy business department played a huge role in helping me obtain them. They helped improve my resume and provided me with interviews at these prestige firms. I don't think anyone can ask someone to give them a job, but what the business department (specifically the professors) did was provide me with great opportunities.

How was the campus life at Molloy?
Each day there was always something going on at Molloy, therefore it kept students engaged and involved on campus. From clubs to sports to student government, there was always something to be involved in. Being part of several different clubs and events on campus truly increased the experience for me at Molloy.

What surprised you the most about Molloy?
The biggest surprise for me at Molloy was how quickly and easy it is to get involved on campus. In high school, I was only part of sports teams and never considered joining different clubs or groups. After a short time at Molloy, I became a business ambassador, a member of the Rugby team, and a member of student government. Since the campus is not very large, it became easier each day to meet new people and get involved in new things.

How did Molloy change your life?
After graduating high school my goal was to go to college, get my degree and be done with school as quickly as possible. Thanks to Molloy my understanding and thought, process of what I wanted from college and my career changed. Molloy was able to give me an identity that I didn't expect to have coming out of high school. Molloy inspired me to follow my passion, and now I have the job I always dreamed of. I feel that the Molloy Business Department has become a part of my family that I will always be grateful for and thankful for everything they have done for me.

What is your fondest memory of Molloy?
I would have to say my fondest memory was walking up the stage at Nassau Coliseum, throwing away the hand of Molloy President Drew Bogner, and just giving him a big hug. This showed me that all the hard work and dedication had finally paid off and I couldn't be any more happier. That moment allowed me to turn the page on that chapter of my life, and now I was able to use everything I have learned and begin a new chapter.
