President: Kathryn A. Heegan McGuire’83 was originally appointed to the position of Representative-at-large more one year ago and is currently serving as president. She has actively participated and assisted at numerous Alumni events. Kathy is a Registered Nurse and has a master’s degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Health Systems Administration. She is currently employed as the Senior Vice-president of Home and Community Services for the Catholic Health Care Systems of New York. She has worked in programs providing care and services to frail, elderly members of our communities for her entire career. Although Kathy lived in Western New York for over 22 years, she has tried to stay active by participating in at least one Molloy College event per year, despite the distance. She has also attended each of her class reunions, twice serving as her class chairperson. Kathy is currently living in Huntington with her husband, Mike, of 23 years. They have two daughters - Meghan, 20, who is a junior, architecture student at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and Jessica, 17, who is a senior at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville, New York. The family is currently visiting colleges - including Molloy. Since moving back to Long Island, Kathy has been very eager to be more active with Molloy.
Interim Vice-President: Ann Hopwood '92 was appointed to the position of Representative-at-Large in August 2003. She graduated from Molloy College with her Bachelors Degree in Social Work and in 1995, received her MSW from Fordham University. Ann had been affiliated with a not-for-profit childcare agency for many years, working in the foster care division as supervisor and director. She is now retired and traveling quite a bit, seeing the world. Most recently, Ann was a volunteer for the Education and Assistance Corporation in their Mediation Alternative Project. She has been an active participant in all social work alumni events and since joining the Alumni Board, has been active at all campus-wide events. She is an alumni mentor in the Alumni Mentoring Program and has been an alumni liaison for the last several years on various Molloy College committees.
Secretary: Laura Morlando Misitano ’84 was recently appointed to the position of acting secretary after serving for almost three years in the position of Representative-at-Large. She is currently serving her first term as secretary. She has been a Class Agent since the programs inception. Laura has attended and assisted at many of the Alumni events over the years, such as the Advent Mass/Christmas Party, Homecoming/Reunion Dinners, Night of Song and the past two Molloy College President’s Inaugurations. She has also served as fundraising chairperson for the Molloy College Annual Golf Outing for the last five years. In addition to helping on the day of the outing, she has been responsible for helping to obtain many of the prizes for the day’s events. For the last thirteen years, Laura has been the Office Manager/Medical Biller for Dr. Jeffrey M. Stark, Podiatrist, located in Oceanside, New York and the Medical Biller for Dr. Steven D. Lerner, DPM for more than two years. She has been very active for more than fourteen years with two Oceanside PTA’s, has served as a Co-coordinator of the St. Agnes Pre-Cana program for ten years until she and her husband recently retired, and as of July, Laura has completed a two-year term as President of the Oceanside High School Marching Band Parents Association. Laura is also a recipient of the Pope Pius Medal for ten years of consecutive service with the diocese. In addition, she is active in Girl Scouts, with one daughter who is a past recipient of her Gold Award, another daughter on her way to being a recipient of her Gold Award and a third daughter working on her Bronze Award. She is married with three children and resides in Oceanside, New York. Her oldest daughter is currently a sophomore at Molloy College in the Honors College program majoring in English/Secondary Education.
Representatives-at-Large (Up to 18 may serve)
Catherine Betts ’95 is a Representative-at-Large. Prior to this position, she was the secretary of the Alumni Board (1999 - 2000 term). She has been a member of the Alumni Board for the last nine years. Cathy has been an active participant and has assisted at various Alumni events as well as serving as chair for several, and was a recipient of the Alumni Service Award in 2004.
Anne Marie Burke ’96 is serving her first term on the Alumni Board as a Representative-at-Large. Anne graduated from Molloy with a degree in Gerontology. Since 1986, she has worked for the Town of Hempstead Department of Senior Enrichment. Her work has included the development and implementation of an Adult Day Program called Senior Care, home visitations for assessment and evaluation of clients, advocacy for the client and caregiver and ongoing outreach to the community. She currently serves as the President of the Long Island Coalition for the Aging (L.I.C.A.) and has been involved in organizations such as the New York State Coalition for the Aging, New York State Adult Day Services Association, the Merrick Kiwanis Club and the Merrick Library Board of Trustees.
Kathleen Gallagher Sandrowicz’74 was originally appointed to the position of Representative-at-large more than one year ago and is currently serving as the Vice-President. She has been an active participant at many of the alumni events. After graduating, Kathy was active in the clinical field for nearly 20 years (CCU, Critical Care Float, Night Supervisor, Maternity Unit and NICU) before entering her current position as Senior Risk Management Surveyor for Physicians' Reciprocal Insurers. She has been in this position for more than 12 years. Kathy has three adult children, Bro. John Michael who currently teaches at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, Matthew Richard who is affiliated with North Fork Bank in Franklin Square and Erin Kathleen who after earning a BA in Psychology at Marist College in 2004, has re-entered academia at Molloy College and is currently enrolled in the dual degree RN/NP Program. Kathy has been married to John for over 32 years and they have resided in Baldwin for over 29 years.
Kathryn Gearin Razza ’59 is serving her first term on the Alumni Board as a Representative-at-Large. Kathy has, along with a few of her sister alumnae, begun planning for her 50th Reunion! She continually marvels at how quickly the years have passed. As an alumna, Kathy, along with Barbara Ellen Black ’60, created the Annual Fashion Show Luncheon and served as president in the early years. While a student at Molloy Catholic College for Women, as it was called then, Kathy majored in French/Spanish and minored in Education. She also earned her M.A. in French in l96l from St. John’s University. Then she began her 35-year teaching career in the Massapequa School District. There, she taught all levels of French and Spanish and first year Italian. Kathy has also led student tours to England, Belgium and France and brought students from Provence to Long Island. She is a frequent visitor to Molloy and until last year, taught French for Travel in the Continuing Education Department. Kathy thoroughly enjoys the programs offered by the Christian-Jewish Center, Siena Women’s Center and the Joseph Maher Leadership Forum. Now that she has more time, she looks forward to participating more fully at Molloy College for the benefit of the students and the Alumnae/i.
Elizabeth Hynes Musnisky '92 is serving her first term on the Alumni Board as a Representative-at-Large. Liz worked in direct marketing after graduating from Molloy. In 1997, she received her Masters in Education from Hofstra University. Liz has experience teaching elementary school students and has worked as an educational consultant for the Rockville Centre School District since 2004. Additionally, this semester Liz is teaching as an adjunct professor for the College of Professional Studies English and Speech Department at St. John's University in Queens. Liz lives in South Hempstead with her husband Greg and their three children: Madeline 7, Noah, 5 and Paige 2.
Teresa M. Loheide ’80 has held various positions on the Alumni Board over the last 13 years and for the past two terms, she has been a Representative-at-Large - the position she currently holds. She has been an active participant at all Alumni and Molloy College events, chairperson, at least once, for all the Alumni sponsored events over the years and has been a class agent since the program’s inception. In 2002, Terrie was the Molloy College Veritas Medal recipient and was honored by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County as one of the “Ninety Women for Ninety Years.” She received her master’s degree in Accounting from Long Island University – C.W. Post Campus in 1988. Terrie is a Certified Public Accountant and has been a Small Business Consultant and department manager with Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP, located in Garden City, New York, since January 1989. She has been a member of the Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women for approximately 15 years, has been involved with the Girl Scouts of Nassau County for about 10 years, as a past Board member and past Chairperson,and currently serves a member of the Finance Committee.
Kathryn McAvoy ’87 is the Immediate Past President of the Alumni Board. She has been an active member of the Molloy College Alumni Board since April 2001, when she was appointed to the position of vice-president and then assumed the position of Acting President in May 2001. She has actively participated and assisted at Alumni events. She is also a Class Agent. Kathy is currently the Account Manager for Dell Computers. She is pursuing her Master's degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University. She is married with three children and resides in Rockville Centre, New York.
Joyce M. Murray ’89 & ’98 was initially appointed to the position of Representative-at-Large in 2002 and is currently serving her second term. She is a Class Agent and has actively participated and assisted at Alumni events. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Molloy in 1989 and her Masters degree in Nursing from Molloy College in 1998. Joyce is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with a practice in Glen Head, New York. She has admitting privileges at North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove. She was selected as Nurse Practitioner of the Month April 2004, United Who's Who, and is an Adelphi instructor. She is married and resides in Franklin Square, New York.
Christina E. Spinelli Guglielmo ’66 has been an active member of the Molloy College Alumni Association - Albany Chapter. She is currently serving her first term as a Representative-at-large. She is retired from KAPL, Inc., a Lockheed Martin Company. While at KAPL, Chris instructed students and managed officer training for the Navel Nuclear Power Program, worked in emergency preparedness and waste management and was the Internal Auditor for Environment, Health and Safety and Quality/EHS Management Systems. Prior to working at KAPL, she was the Executive Director of the Saratoga County Chapter of the American Cancer Society and was the Northeast New York representative for the March of Dimes. Chris maintains Auditor certifications for the EHS Compliance and Management Systems from the Board of EHS Auditor Certifications (BEAC), a professional certification board. She has been a member of BEAC's examination committee since 1999. Chris has lived in Wilton, New York since 1971 with her husband, Bob. They have five grown children and five grandchildren. It is her family members that bring her to Long Island on very regular basis.
