President's Welcome Message

Drew Bogner, Ph.D.

Colleges everywhere continue to wrestle with the challenges posed by the current economic climate. While no school can claim they are completely unaffected, I am pleased to tell you that Molloy College is on solid financial ground. We have prudently protected our core investments and will continue to maintain our position as one of the most affordable private colleges on Long Island.

The colleges that thrive in these difficult times will be those with strong values and a clear understanding of who they are.  Molloy College has carved out a unique niche among colleges in the metropolitan region as a school that combines academic excellence with a values-based commitment to serving the community.

In that vein, we recently launched two exciting new programs. The Sustainability Institute at Molloy College, under the leadership of Executive Director Neal Lewis, blends advocacy and analysis on key issues related to sustainability and environmental responsibility with an education component for both Molloy students and the greater Long Island community.  And our new Irish Studies Institute, kicked off with a special address by Bertie Ahern, the former Prime Minister of Ireland, will bring increased awareness and understanding of Irish history and the many contributions the Irish have made to the metropolitan region.

As pleased as I am about our new initiatives, I’m equally excited about what won’t change.  Molloy College continues to emphasize a values-driven education and we remain committed to graduating students prepared to enjoy successful careers as active members of their communities. That is our mission and our focus on that goal is unwavering.

I look forward to seeing you at Molloy!

Sincerely,

Drew Bogner, Ph.D.
