  • Why I Love Teaching at Molloy College

I have found Molloy College to be a close-knit, collegial environment.  Professors are extremely accessible and there are many opportunities for collaboration.   Smaller class sizes enable me to interact with and engage my students on a higher level.

  • Academic Interests
    • Music Education
    • Classical and Jazz Saxophone
    • Large Ensembles
    • Chamber Music
    • Jazz History
    • Community Music
  • What I am working on

Creating new opportunities and strengthening our current support system for Music Education majors as they work toward demonstrating readiness to enter the Division of Education, which culminates in student teaching.

I play saxophone with the Brooklyn Wind Symphony and Brooklyn Jazz Rebellion.  I am currently pursuing doctoral study in Music Education at NYU.  My research interests include community music and music education's transition into the 21st century.

  • Educational Philosophy

I believe that the strongest music educators are versatile, competent musicians and reflective thinkers.  Effective educators should be conversant in combining current research to proven methodology of the past to create the best possible experience for their students.  We should view and approach music through a multicultural lens while incorporating the standards of our profession.

  • Educational Background
    • Master of Music, Performance and Literature: Saxophone, Eastman School of Music
    • Bachelor of Music in Education and Performance: Saxophone (magna cum laude), Ithaca College
  • Additional Information

I am certified to teach K-12 Music in New York and New Jersey, a certified NYSSMA woodwind adjudicator, and actively perform with wind ensembles and jazz ensembles around the tri-state area.  I also teach private woodwind lessons and give master classes to students at area high schools.
