Poetry reading: 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Reception Room, Kellenberg Hall. Daniel Brown's poems have appeared in a variety of prestigious literary journals and anthologies, including Poetry 180 (ed. Billy Collins). His work has received a Pushcart Prize and, for his 2008 collection, Taking the Occasion, the New Criterion Poetry Prize. His latest collection, What More?, was published in January. His poetry criticism has appeared in The Harvard Book Review, among other journals. A Long Island native, Daniel Brown studied musical composition and musicology at Cornell University, holds a Masters in Musicology from Cornell, and taught music history and theory at Cornell and Dartmouth College. His Why Bach? is an online appreciation of the composer with self-playing scores.
