The following General Interest Summer Institute will be offered on a four (4) day schedule from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day at Molloy's Rockville Centre campus located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre. The Institute can either be taken for 3 graduate credits for $900 or on a non-credit basis for $495 for 2 in-service credits. Please note that students enrolled in this Institute on an in-service basis cannot opt to take these Institutes for graduate credit once an Institute has begun. This course will share the most recent innovations in positive psychology including mindset (attribution theory), hope, grit and character strengths combined with understandings in the field of brain research to unlock the potential of motivation in student learners. Participants will be immersed in the most recent research and strategies of positive psychology. Integrating lesson ideas for positive psychology with latest findings in brain research will provide teachers with toolkit for understanding and addressing the problems of struggling and disengaged learners. Participants will discover character strengths of their students and will develop a new methodology to teach to those strengths. This course has the power to help your students rediscover the power of hope in their lives.
