English Language Arts Summer Institutes for Teachers

The following nine (9) ELA summer Institutes will each be offered on a four (4) day schedule from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day at either Molloy's Suffolk Center located at 7180 Republic Airport in East Farmingdale or our Rockville Centre campus located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre. The Institutes can be taken for 3 graduate credits at $900 a course or on a non-credit basis for 2 in-service credits for $495 per course. Please note that students enrolled in these Institutes on an in-service basis cannot opt to take these Institutes for graduate credit once an Institute has begun. Molloy graduate students should consult their graduate advisor. Transforming Writing Lives through Digital Tools and Creativity- Grades 5-12; Instructor: Carol Varsalona

July 11- July 14
Academic Language in the Integrated ENL Class K-8; Instructor: Audrey Cohan
Next Step for Teachers of English: Writing Curriculum Units for ELA Classrooms, Grades 6-12; Instructor: Victor Jaccarino

August 8 - August 11
Managing the Classroom with Technology using Online Assessment Tools for Educators in the ELA K-12 Classroom; Instructor: Maria Esposito, Rockville Centre campus   

August 15 - August 18
Using Technology to Support Literacy in the K-12 ELA Classroom and the Common Core Standards; Instructor: Maria Esposito

July 5-8, Tuesday-Friday
Struggling Readers, ENLs, and SWDs: Vocabulary May Be the Answer; Instructor: Louisa Kramer-Vida

August 1-4
Classroom Management Techniques- Grades 6-12; Instructor: Michael J. Ferretti
