General Course Information

  • When are courses offered?
Our schedule is designed to be flexible for the adult student. You may choose to attend classes on as many evenings or weekends as you like. Some classes are also held during the day.
Please note: After each course description you will see a Section letter. Choose the section with a time most convenient for you. If you need help scheduling your courses, contact our office.
  • How big are the classes?
Molloy College believes that its students benefit from smaller class size, which is condusive to optimum student/faculty interaction. Registrations are processed in the order that they are received, so it is advisable to register as soon as possible to avoid being closed out of a course.
*If there is not sufficient enrollment one week or less prior to the scheduled beginning of a class, the course may be cancelled.
  • How do I find out where my course is meeting?
Classroom assignments will be listed on the course confirmation you will receive in the mail, after successfully registering. Room assignments are also posted outside our office in Siena Hall, Room 106.
NOTE: Room assignments for computer courses are noted in the course catalog next to the section of the course you are registered for.
  • Will I need to purchase additional materials and/or textbooks?
This varies by course. If your course requires additional materials, textbooks or handouts, it will be indicated in the course description and you will be informed during the first class meeting. Textbooks are for sale in the Molloy College Bookstore located in the Wilbur Arts Center. Bookstore hours are: Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Their phone number is 516.323.3464. For courses that require handouts, they will be available for purchase from the instructor during the first class meeting.
  • Many of the course descriptions mention a CEU. What is a CEU?
CEUs are measures of hourly participation in qualified programs of non-credit Continuing Education and are nationally recognized. Molloy College Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development will award CEUs where indicated. One Continuing Education Unit usually equals 10 class hours of participation. For example, a 12-hour course is equivalent to 1.2 CEU's.
  • Do you ever cancel a course?
Molloy College reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment. Should we cancel a course, a full refund will be granted. Every effort is made to notify students of a course cancellation or change of schedule well in advance.
Students are encouraged to register early to secure a place in the courses of their choice, and to help ensure the course's success.
  • My course schedule was changed and the new schedule doesn't work for me. Can I get a refund?
