Molloy College and Texas Instruments present the T3 Regional Conference

The Teachers, Teaching with Technology (T3) conference is usually hosted by Molloy College at its Rockville Centre campus every three years. The next conference will be held on November 1 and 2, 2013. Regular Registration deadline extented to: October 25, 2013!

Conference Description

This Teachers Teaching with TechnologyTM (T3) Regional Conference is designed to help Math and Science teachers in grades 6 - 12 integrate Texas Instrument's technology into their classroom. TI and Molloy College invite you to join us on beautiful Long Island, located just 40 minutes from the heart of New York City.

Speakers will provide outstanding sessions designed to give you ideas you can take back to your classroom and get you thinking about new ways to approach an old problem.There will be time to see old friends and make new ones, as you become reinvigorated and excited about integrating handheld technology into your classroom.

We have put together a line-up of exceptional speakers, so come and listen, learn, meet, mingle and ENJOY! This conference will be held in the Wilbur Arts Center on the Molloy College campus. Molloy is an independent, comprehensive college with undergraduate and graduate programs located on a 30-acre campus in Rockville Centre, Long Island - forty minutes by train from New York City.

Keynote Speaker

Taylor Mali will be the keynote speaker on Friday, November 1, 2013.  Taylor is a vocal advocate of teachers and the nobility of teaching, having himself spent nine years in the classroom teaching everything from English and history to math and S.A.T. test preparation. He has performed and lectured for teachers all over the world, and his 12-year long Quest for One Thousand Teachers, completed in April of 2012, helped create 1,000 new teachers through "poetry, persuasion, and perseverance," an achievement Mali commemorated by donating 12″ of his hair to the American Cancer Society.

Taylor Mali is the author most recently of "What Teachers Make: In Praise of the Greatest Job in the World" (Putnam 2012) as well as two books of poetry, The Last Time As We Are  (Write Bloody Books 2009) and What Learning Leaves  (Hanover 2002). He received a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant in 2001 to develop Teacher! Teacher! a one-man show about poetry, teaching and math which won the jury prize for best solo performance at the 2001 Comedy Arts Festival.

Conference Schedule

The conference will be offered on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 8 a.m. - 2:45/3 p.m. and on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 8 a.m.- 12:45/1 p.m. at Molloy College. Attendees will have the option of registering for both days or for just one day: Friday or Saturday. 

The conference will offer the following sessions:

Friday:
One, 50-minute concurrent session
Two, 75/90-minute concurrent sessions
Keynote Presentation

Saturday:
One, 50-minute concurrent session
Two, 75/90-minute concurrent sessions

Concurrent Sessions

All of the concurrent sessions will be devoted to helping math and science teachers integrate technology into their classrooms. The sessions will provide teachers with exciting new classroom-ready activities. Conference participants will be able to pick from a variety of topics presented during three (3) concurrent sessions each day . The session topics, speakers and descriptions can be found in the conference brochure. Participants will be asked to pre-register for the topics that they would like to attend since seating will be limited in most of the sessions. If you register early, prior to the topics being finalized, you will be contacted concerning your choices and will be guaranteed a seat in your sessions.

Location

The conference check-in, breakfast, lunch and Opening Session will be held in the Wilbur Arts Center at Molloy's Rockville Centre campus located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre, New York 11571. Click here for directions to the campus and a campus map.

Call for Speakers

The call for speakers deadline has now passed and we are no longer acepting any new proposals for the 2013 conference. Please click here to download the "Call for Speakers" flyer. The flyer outlines the session formats and also contains a speaker application. If you are interested in presenting, please complete the application and return it by July 8, 2013.

Fees

Attendees have the option of registering for both days of for just one day: Friday or Saturday. fees are as follows:

Late Registration after 10/25: $115/$75
Pre-Service Teachers by 10/25: No Charge No Charge (Student ID required at check in)
Pre-Service Teachers after 10/25: $85/$50 (Student ID required at check in)

Registration is limited. In-person registration the day of the conference is on a space available basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Refund Policy: A full refund will be granted as long as you contact us by October 25, 2013. Refunds will not be granted after October 25, 2013, however substitutions can be made up until October 31, 2013 at no charge.

Meals

A continental breakfast on Friday and Saturday and a buffet lunch on Friday is included in the price of the conference.
