The following programs will be offered this spring at Molloy College:
Friday January 25, 2013: "Practical Therapeutic Intervention for Children With Motor Speech Disorders" will be offered 8:15 a.m.-3 p.m in the Hays Theater, Wilbur Arts Center, Molloy College, Rockville Centre campus. This full-day program will provide an overview of what to look for in children with motor speech issues. The program presenters will be: Tracey Delio, M.A., CCC-SLP, a certified PROMPT Instructor who teaches workshops in various locations throughout the United States, and Jennifer Shapiro, M.A., CCC-SLP, a PROMPT Instructor, who is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist currently in private practice in Plainview, New York. .5 ASHA CEU's. Intermediate Level; Professional Area will be offered. The tuition is $10 for Molloy students (normally $100) and is free to Molloy faculty and staff. See registration below to sign up.
Wednesday March 6, 2013: "Speech and Language Evaluations and Ongoing Assessment: Quantifying Subjective Measures" will be offered from 6:30 p.m.-9:15 p.m. in the Hays Theater, Wilbur Arts Center, Molloy College, Rockville Centre campus. This program focuses on the use of free and low-cost technology to quantify subjective measures during speech-language evaluation and therapy. Participants will learn about and use widely available speech analysis programs and other software that will enhance their clinical assessments. An emphasis will be placed on using speech analysis software to demonstrate and support eligibility criteria at the initial evaluation level and to measure progress during ongoing assessment in therapy. The program presenter will be: Janet Ann Lee, M.A., TSHH, CCC-SLP, a certified speech-language pathologist with related certification in applied behavior analysis. She is a trained vocologist, with certification from the National Center for Voice and Speech, as well as professional operatic training and experience in theatre, opera, television, film, and print media. .25 ASHA CEUs. Intermedite level; Professional Area will be offered. The program is free for Molloy students, faculty and staff. See registration below to sign up.
