Education & Research Interests:Dr. Elisa Rapaport received her Ph.D. as the George F. Hourani Fellow in Ethics at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. Before Dr. Rapaport began teaching at Molloy College in 2007, she taught philosophy at the University at Buffalo, SUNY Old Westbury and Medaille College. She is interested in the social and personal motivations that prompt emotional response, reasoning, and ethical decision-making, particularly in the health care setting. She has written on personal identity, communitarian ethics, fetal homicide, Kant's ideas on reproduction, and moral agency within religious bounds. Service:Dr. Rapaport is active with the American Philosophical Association and the Society for Women in Philosophy. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Siena Women's Center and the Long Island Chapter of the American Red Cross, co-chairing the Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders in Greater New York. She is also active with Himalayan Health Care and the National Park Foundation. Dr. Rapaport is the founding Faculty Advisor for the Red Cross Club on Molloy's campus. She recently led a group of ethics students on a Spring Break service-learning trip to New Orleans. Upcoming Courses:
