First Year Experience

Ready. Set. Learn! At Molloy College, you'll begin your first semester as part of a freshman learning community which is a group of student learners in linked courses. Freshman learning communities at Molloy allow freshmen to:

  • Explore an interest or become acquainted with a major field of study
  • Participate in a community of learners, fellow freshmen enrolled in the same courses
  • Form friendships with fellow students and bonds with faculty as you learn
  • Sharpen skills necessary to succeed in college
  • Fulfill general education or major degree requirements
  • Learn how to make the best use of resources available as a student at Molloy College.

Honors Learning Community: Fall Program

Honors Learning Community for Nursing Students: Fall Program

Each Freshman Learning Community includes a course called FST 101, The College Experience, a one-credit course required for all Molloy freshmen.  FST 101:

  •  Aids students in making a successful transition to college studies
  •  Sharpens important skills needed for college success, such as note taking, time management, and library research
  • Explores major and career options
  • Answers student questions about advisement and registration
  •  Helps students become involved in campus activities
  • Helps students make the best use of a wide array of campus services
