Science Summer Institutes For Teachers
The following nine (9) Science Summer Institutes will each be offered on a four (4) day schedule from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day at either Molloy's Rockville Centre campus located at 1000 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre or at its Suffolk Center campus located at 7180 Republic Airport in East Farmingdale. Each Institute can either be taken on a non-credit for $495 for 2 in-service credits. or for 3 graduate credits for $900. Please note that students enrolled in these Institutes on an in-service basis cannot opt to take these Institutes for graduate credit once an Institute has begun. • Changes and Challenges in the 5-8 Science Classroom (July 8-11, Suffolk campus)
• Teaching Strategies for a Cleaner, Greener Tomorrow in a Middle School Setting ( July 8-11, Suffolk Campus)
• Physical Science: Forces, Motion and Light (The Very Nature of Middle School) For Grades 5 - 8 ( July 15-18, RVC Campus)
• Teaching Long Island's Marine Ecology: Facts and Strategies for Grades 7-12 (July 15-18, RVC Campus)
• Presenting Biodiversity for Grades 5 - 8 ( July 22-25, RVC Campus)
• Teaching Various Concepts in Terrestrial Ecology ( July 29-August 1, Suffolk Campus)
• Techniques for Successful Scientific Research and Competition: for Grades 7-12 (August 5-8), Suffolk campus)
• How to Teach Sustainable Living on Long Island for Grades 8-12: Food, Water and Shelter for the Future ( August 5-8 Suffolk Campus)
• Strategies for Teaching Astronomy in Regents Earth Science ( August 12-15, Suffolk Campus)
