Program Description

The Molloy College Summer Music Institute provides a fun and engaging opportunity to continue making music throughout the summer. Students entering grades 7-12 will study with renowned professionals from Molloy College and area schools. Our program of study allows students to build upon existing skills while also exploring new musical avenues. It is designed to accommodate students with a variety of musical interests, from those who hope to gain new musical insight in a supportive setting to those who are considering a career in music.

The Program at a Glance:

July 2-27, 2012 (No class on July 4) between 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Five days per week, students attend three one-hour classes in our state-of-the-art performing arts center:

One hour of ensemble rehearsal Orchestra, Band, Chorus, Jazz, and Percussion Opportunities

One hour of small group instruction Specialized instruction according to instrument or voice

One hour of elective instruction Piano/Music Theory, Guitar, Percussion, Improvisation, and Dance Electives Available

Performance The program will culminate in a concert on Friday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Admission and Registration Information

The Summer Music Institute is open to students entering grades 7-12. This is an enrichment program that is designed for students who have been studying their instrument for a few years and/or have the ability to play at a NYSSMA level III or higher.

Students will need to complete an application for admission with a teacher recommendation. Click here to download an application. Applications are due on Friday, May 25th.

Tuition: $395. A tuition deposit of $100 will be required to secure your spot in the program with the balance due on June 1st. You will receive registration instructions upon your acceptance into the program.
