Pediatric Nursing Skills

Molloy College offers two (2) different courses in its Pediatric Nursing Series:
- Care of the Pediatric Client
- Physical Assessment of Pediatric Client - Normal vs. Abnormal

Care of the Pediatric Client
This 12-hour program provides a comprehensive approach to providing nursing care to children with acute/chronic illnesses. Curriculum will cover a system approach emphasizing the physiological as well a pertinent nursing interventions. The target audience is the registered nurse.
Areas covered: Respiratory, Cardiac, Neuromusculoskeletal, GI, HIV/Infectious Diseases and Nutrition

Physical Assessment of Pediatric Client - Normal vs. Abnormal
This course will review the major body systems and how to perform a head-to-toe physical examination. Participants will master assessment skills to identify normal and abnormal findings in children using inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation. The target audience is the registered nurse.
