Health Information Management (Medical Records)
Since 1984, Molloy College, Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development has a long history of course offerings in the area of health information management (medical records).
Courses lead to entry-level employment in the following fields:
- Medical Coding
- Medical Billing
- Medical Administrative Assistant
We currently offer three certificate programs so that you can become proficient in this field. Whether in a physicians' office, hospital or other healthcare facility, patients are followed by an astounding trail of information. From diagnoses to final billing, health care providers need to have access to that information. After completing Molloy College's medical records certificate program, you will be prepared to meet the challenges of this growing profession.
ICD-10 is coming!
Each of the Medical Record certificate program requirements currently includes the course: ICD-9-CM Coding. Those requirements are expected to change in 2014. The ICD-9 course will be replaced by ICD-10 in late 2013.
Workshops, designed for professionals with a proficient understanding of coding will be offered. These workshops will highlight what changes to expect.

Students should register for classes at least one week prior to the start of classes to insure enough time for you to get your confirmation and parking permit. However, you can register up until the day of class. Please note that some of our classes do close out and some of our classes do cancel, so you may be taking a chance of not getting into the course of your choice by waiting.
