Through our Social Work Department, we provide you with an education rich in issues of importance, like economic and social justice and the full development of human potential. Our Social Work Program will teach you how to be an ethical, competent, spiritually aware professional, capable of working in both urban and suburban communities. We give you a broad base for discovery and exploration within the field, too. Our educational methods range from involving you in direct work with individuals, families and groups to social research and community change through improved policy and program development, advocacy and social action. Social Work is a field for those compassionate enough to help and smart enough to make a difference.
Molloy College’s Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and course work includes Social Policy, Human Behavior, Generalist Practice and Research. All course work, taught by our esteemed faculty, is pertinent to whatever area of the field you choose to pursue. You can take exciting electives like Crisis Intervention, Contemporary Issues and Spirituality and Social Work. With your degree, you will be prepared for graduate education. Molloy College also offers a collaborative program with Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service, which offers a one-year masters degree.
