Molloy College student named Softball Scholar-Athlete of the year
Not long after being honored as a CoSIDA Academic All-American, junior Nicolette Sinagra of Molloy College was named the East Coast Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Sinagra, an All-ECC second-team pick, currently owns a 3.91 grade-point average in Speech-Language Pathology.
In 2013, she leads the team in hitting (.370), alongside 4 home runs and 37 RBI. She also paces all Lions with a slugging percentage of .559. Moreover, the Brooklyn native has totaled 44 runs, 11 steals and 9 triples, which rank second in the country.
In the ECC, Sinagra, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, headlines the conference in several categories. She is listed atop the leaderboard in hits (84), triples, total bases (127), games played (66), plate appearances and at-bats (227).
